A general cleaning is done in the hazelnut groves before starting the hazelnut harvest. Because the abundant and rapid growth of weeds and thorns can make it difficult to collect nuts and cause the loss of nuts that fall to the ground. For these reasons, a good garden cleaning should be done at least 5-10 days before starting to harvest.
 
The best way to harvest nuts; It is the collection of fully ripe nuts from the ground by shaking the branches. The productivity and quality of the hazelnuts collected by this method is high, the branches, shoots and buds that will form the next year's crop are not damaged.

In order to obtain a high-quality and abundant harvest and to ensure that this harvest lasts for many years, hazelnut harvesting should be started on the announced harvest dates and appropriate harvesting methods should be applied.

Looking at some of the features, there are some features that indicate that the Nut is in the collection stage.
These features are:

Thorough yellowing and reddening of the leaf surrounding the nut,
Hazelnuts begin to play in the shell,
3/4 of the hard fruit peel is reddened and the inside acquires its own hardness and taste,
When branches bearing firm and plump fruits are shaken, 3/4 of the available fruits fall from the branch, indicating that the hazelnut has reached maturity.
